Mohamed Fathy Suliman purchased a flight from Chicago to Egypt, with a layover in Turkey. When he arrived in Turkey, Suliman did not board his flight to Egypt and instead purchased a one-way flight to Gaziantep, near the Turkish-Syrian border. Turkish authorities arrested Suliman for illegally crossing in Syria from Turkey. The Justice Department alleges that Suliman intended to join ISIS in Syria. Suliman allegedly displayed ISIS propaganda on his Facebook page.
